Spray Chilling Systems’ Managing Director Aaron McConachy is a pioneer of spray chilling technology and its application.
A qualified plumber coming from a background in dairy farming, as well as operating a contracting company doing mainly drainage and earthworks, Aaron has a long history of working with meat companies.
In 1999/2000 he was approached to assist in analysing the viability of introducing spray chilling to a meatworks in New Zealand. The technology had been used overseas, particularly in the USA, but was relatively unknown in Australasia.
Aaron came up with designs for a chilling system that was put into operation immediately.
So successful was the technical design that the spray nozzles used in 2000 are still used in current designs.
The commercial payback was also quickly proven. Word spread and major meat companies began approaching Aaron to install similar systems at their plants around New Zealand.
Australian companies too heard of the profit gains being made by their Kiwi contemporaries, and began approaching Aaron to look at installations on their side of the Tasman.
Now, Spray Chilling Systems has its technology operating in major industry plants in New Zealand and Australia.
If flags were put in a map to show where Spray Chilling Systems has improved the profitability of Australian companies, there would be flags in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
You could be next.
